This class is for those who wish to explore the Gelli plate as a printmaking tool. It goes beyond the basics of using this versatile technique. It encourages students to use their  creativity as they build on previous knowledge and skills. We will explore using found materials, collograph plates, stencil making and more to build richly complex surfaces.

Students will need their own Gelli plate for this class. These may be purchased through Gordon Harris. Ideally the 9”x14” size, but the 8”x12” size will be fine if this is what you already have. The Art Haven studio has a couple of plates available to use, please advise on booking. A homemade gelatine plate will work, but will not give quite as good a result with some of the techniques we will use.
